Underwater Submarine
2020
I designed, built, textured, and animated this submarine vehicle as an assignment for my 3D modeling course at Columbus College of Art and Design.

Initial Design
I started with detailed orthographic drawings of my original submarine vehicle concept. 17th/18th century Baroque and Rococo art inspired the curved shape of the body and the waviness of its tubing. I worked from the idea that this submarine dwells on the bottom of the ocean, sweeping around the sandy floor.
Material Map
I then mapped out the specific materials that inspired the texture and design of the submarine in more detail.

Modeling
I modeled the submarine in Maya 2020 based off of my orthographic drawings and then textured it in Substance Painter.
Animation and Finishing
I rigged and animated my model in Maya 2020 before bringing the environment and assets into Unreal for scene design, lighting, and final cinematic finishes.
